Twitter’s just plunged ahead in their quest to become more profitable. On the surface, the changes are merely visual – they’re adopting a new look for profile pages that mimics Facebook’s approach (profile image in front of wider “banner” image), and apparently work’s been done on the iPad experience, making it more consistent with other devices. Hooray! To remind us, however, that this quest of theirs involves retracting on their previous “openness”, they’ve also removed the ability to use third-party image sharing services from their iOS apps.
