Amnesty International Furushwa Crisis Map of forced evictions
Brief:
Amnesty UK wanted to help activists map forced evictions in Nairobi using the Ushahidi crowdsourcing platform.
Solution:
For the mapping tool to be useful to activists on the ground, it must be possible to populate using mobile phones. Publishing features were also required for Amnesty to talk about this important work.
To meet these requirements on a limited budget, RAAK investigated the feasibility of using Wordpress with Ushahidi. We simplified the Ushahidi user experience and designed a beautiful and useful interface for reporting evictions and for publishing information.
